With over 22 years of progressive leadership experience, Jason Barao serves as Director of
Business Development for Matting Solutions at United Rentals, where he leads national
strategy for safe, scalable, and sustainable ground protection. His mission: to ensure
infrastructure, utility, and civil projects have reliable access across even the most challenging
terrain.
Working closely with Jeff “J2” Johnson and the J Squared Strategic Solutions team, Jason is
instrumental in delivering engineered matting systems that support crane work, underground
utility access, right-of-way protection, and large-scale jobsite stabilization. His leadership
ensures that every project—whether urban or remote—moves forward with safety,
compliance, and operational efficiency.
Jason’s strategic insight stems from years of high-level roles within United Rentals’ specialty
divisions, including Fluid Solutions and National Sales. His hands-on knowledge of ground
protection matting, combined with a customer-first mindset, makes him a key force behind J2’s
ability to deliver dependable solutions backed by United Rentals’ nationwide resources.
